History Of Mario: The Greatest Video Game Of All Time
June 13, 2010 0 CommentsThe Mario Brothers are
truly a household name. Everyone not matter what age, from the
young people to the older ones, have all heard of the dynamic duo
whether it was from playing the game themselves or from all the
publicity from the games of the Mario series has received. The
history of Mario is now some what legendary.
The Mario Brothers was not always a home video game that was played
each on the televisions of almost everyone's home. It was not
always like that as the game started as an arcade version first as
Donkey Kong in the year of 1981 and the character was a carpenter
known only as Jump Man.
Donkey Kong along with Donkey Kong Junior also were hits among the
arcades too. It was Nintendo that began the development on a spin
off game for Jump Man in the year 1983 and Mario Brothers was then
released later that same year. The side view platform game like
Donkey Kong then introduced players to his brother Luigi, which
then allowed two players to be able to play simultaneously. The
brothers then became plumbers in this version of the series.
In 1985 the Mario game was now longer as Nintendo released it. The
game was called the Super Mario Brothers, which went on to become
one of the best selling games in video game history. Then in 1986
Super Mario brothers 2 was released in Japan and with new features
added and it was known to be the most difficult game in the entire
Mario series.
Nintendo released a very modified version of the one from Japanese
game Doki Doki Panic and the Mario characters were then added and
it was released in 1988 as Super Mario Brothers 2 in North American
and then in 1989 it arrived in Europe. Not long after Mario
Brothers 3 came out on the market in 1990 and it was regarded as
being the best of the series.
The Mario Brothers came a long way over the years from its start as
just an arcade game on up to the game that everyone played in their
homes and then right up to its current status as The new Super
Mario Brothers. Nintendo Wii was released in the year 2006. This
game will always be known as the greatest game in the history of
video games and will still continue on well into the
future.
